Akshaye Khanna
Akshaye Khanna was born in the city of Mumbai in 1975. He is the middle son of Vinod Khanna, a Bollywood actor and politician, and the younger brother of Rahul Khanna.
After training at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute in Mumbai, Khanna made his Bollywood debut in 1997 with the film Himalay Putra, which was not a box office hit. His performance in his second film, Border (1997), directed by J. P. Dutta, garnered him the Filmfare Best Debut Award and a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1998. After that, a run of disappointing films followed, including Mohabbat (1997), Kudrat (1998), Laawaris (1999), Love You Hamesha (1999), and Dahek: A Burning Passion (1999). In 1999, he featured in Rishi Kapoor’s Aa Ab Laut Chalen; despite the film’s mediocre box office, he received appreciation for his performance. He then acted opposite Aishwarya Rai in Subhash Ghai’s Taal, which was released in 1999. The film achieved critical and economic success.
