Anushka Sharma was born on May 1, 1988, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh And Her father, Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma, is an army officer, while her mother, Ashima Sharma, is a housewife. Her father is from Uttar Pradesh, while her mother is a Garhwali. Her elder brother is Karnesh Sharma, a film producer who earlierserved in the Merchant Navy. Karnesh played cricket for the Bangalore Ranji under-19 squad before joining the navy. Sharma has remarked that her upbringing as a military brat had a significant impact on her personality and life.
In a 2012 interview with The Times of India, she stated, “I am more proud to be an army officer’s daughter than to be an actor. She attended Army School and graduated with a concentration in arts from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore. She subsequently relocated to Mumbai to continue her modeling career. Sharma claims she wanted to build a name for herself in modeling but had no real desire to work in cinema. She began her modeling career at Lakme Fashion Week as a model for Wendell Rodricks’ Les Vamps Show and was chosen to be Rodricks’ last model for the Spring Summer ’07 Collection. Since then, she’s done campaigns for Silk & Shine, Whisper, Nathella Jewelry, and Fiat Palio.
